Pakistan’s export remittances from information technology and IT enabled services (ITeS) increased 38.16 percent year on year, with a goal of $5 billion by 2023.
According to the statement, this was the highest growth rate obtained by the IT sector since 2018, when the growth rate for the same time was only 13%.
Minister for IT and Telecommunication Syed Amin Ul Haque praised the industry’s recent export performance, saying the plan to bring IT companies from secondary and tertiary cities into the mainstream was well underway to ensure holistic growth.
The Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) registration cost for IT and ITeS enterprises, including contact centers and IT start-ups in underserved areas of the country, has been totally waived, he said, in order to support the IT industry’s expansion across the country.
Over the next three years, Haque has set a goal of $5 billion in export remittances via information technology and ITeS.
