PSL or IPL? Mohammad Amir Says He’d Rather Play in IPL than PSL for 2026 Season

Former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir, who is currently playing for Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, has said he would prefer to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) if both tournaments are held at the same time next year.

In a recent podcast with his PSL team, Amir shared that since he is now a British citizen, he could be eligible to play in the IPL. He said that if the opportunity to play in the IPL comes up, he would choose it over the PSL. However, he also made it clear that if he doesn’t get the chance to join the IPL, he will be happy to continue playing in the PSL.

Amir called the IPL one of the best cricket tournaments in the world. He said it offers high-level competition, and playing there would be a great experience for any cricketer. His comments have caught the attention of fans from both India and Pakistan, with many discussing his possible future in the IPL.

Although political tensions between India and Pakistan have kept Pakistani players out of the IPL since 2008, Amir’s new nationality might allow him to participate in the league as a foreign player.

Amir’s statement shows how much respect he has for the IPL as a cricket tournament. While he continues to perform in the PSL, fans are now curious to see if he will be part of the IPL in the future.

Whether or not he joins the IPL, Mohammad Amir remains a well-known name in cricket, and his opinion has started new conversations about cross-border participation in major leagues.
