For millennials, watching PTV series in the evenings is associated with their formative years. This nostalgia is still present at the mere mention of any one of those legendary serials. The state-run Pakistan Television (PTV) has officially launched its first OTT platform service, PTVFLLIX, allowing viewers to relive those unforgettable moments.
PTVFLIX, a subscription-based platform, will let users watch classic dramas, sitcoms, and a variety of other shows that contributed to PTV’s success in the entertainment sector not just in Pakistan but also for fans throughout the world.
Marriyum Aurangzeb, the federal information minister, and Sohail Ali Khan, the managing director of PTV, attended the inauguration ceremony on Saturday. Several well-known celebrities, including Bushra Ansari, Khalid Abbas Dar, and Javed Sheikh, were present for the ceremony.
PTV was praised by the information minister for “entering the modern era of digital broadcasting,” in which entertainment has shifted from televisions to smartphones and other gadgets. Users will have access to the channel’s iconic drama and family entertainment content through PTVFLIX. Both Google Play and Apple’s software Store offer the software.
