Punjab Announces Free Travel on Orange Line Train, Metro Bus for limited time

Many decisions were taken in the 25th meeting of the Punjab cabinet under the CM Mohsin Naqvi and the voice of orange line train and metro services users was also heard. Cabinet has favoured citizens of Punjab by allowing free travel on the orange line and metro train and metro bus services. This decision will include some specific categories, i.e. disabled individuals, senior citizens, and college students.

This will help these people to meet daily tasks easily and with more comfort. This limited time relief of three months will assist citizens of Lahore to travel easily at cheap prices. Requirements for availing this opportunity include having a valid ID card and uniform is must for the students. This decision truly marks the commitment of the Punjab government for providing affordable transport to their citizens. Although this initiative taken by Ibrahim Murad, the Minister of Transport of Punjab launched it for only three months, he also gave a hope of expanding and continuing it later after the evaluation of the trial phase.

This will not only relax student’s but also vulnerable people from illegal demands of local drivers and will definitely help them in these tough times of inflation. This instant relief should be continued for meeting the international standard and giving permanent relief to all groups. It is a positive step to encourage citizens towards public transport hence saving our resources, reducing traffic jams and enhancing better air quality. This decision should be implemented soon to meet better results in the future.
