The Punjab Education Department has introduced an exciting initiative to strengthen the education system by hiring 12,500 School Teaching Interns (STIs). These positions are open for nine months each year and aim to address the growing demand for quality education across the province.
Who Can Apply?
To qualify for the program, candidates must be residents of the district they wish to serve. Applicants must hold a master’s degree along with a professional teaching qualification.
Roles and Restrictions
Interns will focus solely on teaching and will not be assigned administrative responsibilities or evening school duties. This policy ensures their attention remains on improving classroom learning outcomes.
Financial Support
Interns will receive monthly stipends based on the school level they teach. Primary school teachers will earn Rs38,000, middle school teachers Rs40,000, and high/higher secondary school teachers Rs45,000.
Transparent Selection Process
Selections will be made based on merit, with the final lists displayed in deputy DEO offices, online portals, and school notice boards. Applications can be submitted through the designated online platform.
No Long-Term Commitments
These positions are temporary, and interns will not be eligible for permanent jobs or transfers to other schools. However, those who successfully complete the internship will receive a certificate of completion from the department.
