Punjab Govt Announces Three-Month Holidays For These Schools

In response to severe smog conditions, the Punjab government has announced that special education schools will remain closed for three months, effective November 1, 2024. The decision, intended to protect vulnerable students from health risks, applies to both public and private institutions for special education across the province.

The Environment Department issued an official notification outlining the closure, which will last until January 31, 2025. The notification emphasizes the importance of keeping students safe as the province experiences persistent and hazardous smog levels, particularly in major cities.

To minimize disruption in learning, the government has instructed special schools to implement online education solutions. The notification encourages institutions to organize virtual classes to ensure that students can continue their studies during this period.

This move aims to safeguard the health of students in special education, prioritizing their well-being while offering alternative ways to keep up with the academic schedule.
