Recently, PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) has introduced Mazdoor Card for the labourers in Punjab.
According to the report, 1.2 million poor labours and 6.8 million heirs got register with Punjab Social Security department and can avail benefits from Mazdoor Card.
Mazdoor card can be accessible as a debit card and identity code. Moreover, it could be used in hospitals and dispensaries of Social Security Institute as well listed private hospital all over the province.
Sehat Sahulat Card and other government loan schemes would also be linked to Mazdoor Card.
Other benefits includes 30% discounts with 130+ firms, the bank accounts of 1.2 million workers will be opened as an initiative process. Moreover, workers will benefit from Industrial Workers’ Housing Schemes and Akhuwat through the Punjab Mazdoor Card. Last but not the least, workers can avail discounts in railways, stores and private schools for the education purpose of their children.
