Under the $150 million Cadaster of Punjab program, the Board of Revenue Punjab has introduced digital mapping of all Punjab urban centers, including Lahore, for the first time.
In collaboration with the Survey of Pakistan, the Board of Revenue has begun planning a digital map of Lahore. In the first step of the project, all of the buildings in the provincial capital would be mapped, and numbers would be assigned to each one.
The number of each house, as well as its location, value, and owner information, will be digitalized. With the completion of the project in Lahore and other Punjabi towns, the Khasra number of immovable properties will be abolished.
A land reform law prepared by the Board of Revenue was approved by the Punjab cabinet. Private housing societies’ offices would be considered public offices under the constitution, and their records would be sealed, and legal action would be taken against them if they did not conduct routine audits.
