The Punjab government has announced plans to install solar systems in new sports complexes under the ‘Khailta Punjab’ initiative, led by the Punjab Chief Minister.
Muzaffar Khan Sial, the Secretary of Youth Affairs Punjab, shared this news during a meeting at Punjab Stadium, where he discussed the progress of 100 sports projects spread across South, North, and Central Punjab. These projects include both new constructions and the restoration of existing stadiums.
During the meeting, which featured presentations from key officials like Pervez Iqbal, the Director General of Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab, Sial emphasized the importance of sustainable and modern sports infrastructure.
He highlighted that the integration of solar energy systems will not only support environmental goals but also ensure uninterrupted power supply for sports activities.
Additionally, the initiative will introduce new facilities, such as badminton courts, to the sports complexes. This effort aims to provide better opportunities and facilities for athletes and sports enthusiasts in Punjab, promoting physical activity and sportsmanship across the region.
The ‘Khailta Punjab’ program is part of a broader strategy to enhance the quality and accessibility of sports infrastructure, fostering a vibrant sports culture in the province.
