The Wildlife Department of Punjab has recently decided to microchip the rare animals and the birds across the whole province. Microchip implant device will easily allow for timely assessment of the behavior of wildlife, their lifestyle as well as the disease that outbreak in those animals.
In the initial first phase of Green Pakistan programme, the microchipping of the birds and animals is completed in Safari Park, Lahore Zoo and Jallo Park.
The Doctor of Lahore Zoo, Ms Madiha Ashraf also said in the first phase that microchips were applied to the animals and birds in three parks of Lahore and this formula of microchipping has already been tested before on animals in private breeding farms.
Mudassar Hassan, the Punjab Wildlife Deputy Director stated that microchipping was just a number; however, it was to mainly process the numbering of the birds and the animals.
The microchipping by wildlife was first proposed in the year, 2018. But due to several reasons this project was delayed; however, it is now decided to practically implement the project.
