About Ras Al Khaimah
His highness Sheikh Saqr bin Muhammed Al Qasimi officially opened Ras Al Khaimah International Airport in 1976. This airport primarily serves local flights, cargo transportation, and freight operations, featuring two passenger terminal structures, along with facilities for cargo handling, aircraft maintenance, and aviation training services.
Over the years, the airport has faced challenges, notably with its affiliated airline, RAK Airways, which was adversely impacted by the global financial crisis. Presently, Ras Al Khaimah International Airport serves as a central hub exclusively for Air Arabia.
