Razer, a Taiwanese technology company, has unveiled what it claims is the world’s smartest mask. The mask is known as Project Hazel and is a N95 respirator that can be reused.
The mask has a gleaming outer shell made of recycled plastic that is waterproof and scratch-resistant. Since the plastic is translucent, you can read lips and see facial cues when conversing with others.
The two circular areas that surround your mouth are the mask’s main features. They’re used for ventilation, and they give the system a futuristic gas mask look. According to Razer, Active disc-type ventilators will be used in Project Hazel, which will filter both the air that is breathed in and the CO2 that is exhaled.
It will also be certified to filter 95% of airborne particles, including the COVID-19 virus and other common pathogens, according to the company. The ventilators would also be detachable and rechargeable. Razer hasn’t said how long the battery will last or how the user will be notified when it’s time to replace it.
