Introduction
Realme has become quite a sensational smartphone brand in Pakistan since 2020, gaining peak popularity with over two million smartphone sales in the country since its kickstart. The brand recently launched two smartphones under its new “Realme 9 Pro” series; Realme 9 Pro & Realme 9 Pro+.
With the launch of Realme 9 Pro+, the company has really set its best foot forward in the market. The Realme 9 Pro+ effortlessly stands out with its amazing midrange specs like its photochromic Light Shift Design, fluid AMOLED Screen Display, Super-Dart(turbo) charging, and most of all; its 50 MP AI Triple flagship-grade camera with optical image stabilization feature. The smartphone also carries a MediaTek Dimensity 920 5G chipset paired with up to 8GB of RAM.
The Realme 9 Pro+ is being said to be the most rightful successor of the Realme 8 Pro, which makes perfect sense since Realme 9 Pro+ carries everything that the Realme 8 Pro should have; an HRR Display, more powerful hardware, an improved camera, and stereo speakers.
Design
The basic design of the Realme 9 Pro+ is quite decent. With a compact size and shape, the phone has a flat display with a punch-hole front camera and is super light weighing only 182 grams.
One might think that all smartphones look alike, but Realme breaks this cliché by presenting heavy upgrades in its designs every time. From afar, the Realme 9 Pro+ looks like a normal mid-range Android phone with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 front, glass back, and plastic body. Its dimensions are 160.2 x 73.3 x 8mm.
But what makes it unique is its color changing rear panel design aka the “Light Shift Design”. The rear panel has a glittery effect on it having vertical reflections, and changes colors when exposed to UV / Sunlight. This color-changing back panel design has made the Realme 9 Pro+ hundred times more aesthetically pleasing and is going to fascinate a lot of users.
The smartphone is introduced in two color schemes; Sunrise Blue and Aurora Green.
Display & Processor
The Realme 9 Pro+ 5G has a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 1080×2400 pixel resolution. It is an AMOLED panel so the blacks in the screen are darker and the colors are more accurate than that of an LCD Display. The display comes protected with a layer of Gorilla Glass 5 on top, with a maximum brightness of 600 nits, which is bright enough to be easily used in the sunlight.
A refresh rate of 90 Hz implies that the phone has very responsive and speedy usage, and is also apt for gaming since games can run at a higher frame rate.
The phone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 920 octa-core Processor, paired with up to 8GB of RAM.
The coolest feature of Realme 9 Pro+ is its heart rate sensor. The phone’s in-display fingerprint sensor includes a heart rate sensor which promises to offer accurate heart rate detection and recording, making it Realme’s first ever smartphone to offer the heart rate sensor feature.
Back Camera
Realme never disappoints when it comes to camera quality even in its mid-range level smartphones. The Realme 9 Pro+ comes with an excellent rear camera suitable for both casual and professional photographers.
The Realme 9 Pro+ has been launched with an upgraded “flagship-level” back camera. It is an AI triple rear camera with a Primary 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary shooter (with optical image stabilization). Upon that, the phone’s 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel macro shooter provisions are why the Realme is said to provide premium features in mid-range price.
Charging
The Realme 9 Pro+ comes is backed by 4500mAh Battery with a 60Watt Super Dart fast-charging support. The phone’s battery can last up to 2 days straight, with 6-hour screen time per cycle. The super-fast charging of the phone is evident from the fact that it fuels up from 0 to 50 in less than 18 minutes only.
Verdict
The Realme 9 Pro+ is a decent mi-ranger smartphone with an exceptional camera. The smartphone is quite user friendly in terms of handling and weightage, has a high refresh rate display, and is suitable for gaming as well. The phone brings some peculiar features such as heart rate sensor and a color changing rear panel design.
The key to Realme’s popularity in Pakistan is that it offers premium features and high-quality smartphones under pocket-friendly prices. The Realme 9 Pro+ offers the same deal and is quite the top-level package in the mid-range bucket right now, expected to hit the market starting with PKR 69,999 only.
