A supreme court bench headed by Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial declared the Review of Judgements and Orders Act as null and void.
A three-member bench headed by the Chief Justice heard the Review of Judgments and Orders Act case. The supreme court had reserved the verdict on June 19 after six hearings. Justice Ijazul Ahsan and Justice Muneeb Akhtar were part of the three-member bench.
The Supreme Court declared the Review of Judgments and Orders Act, 2023 as a law and declared the petitions as maintainable. Parliament, through the Act, had given the right to a review appeal before a larger bench.

After this decision of the Supreme Court, disqualified political personalities will not be able to file an appeal to review their decision.
