Dubai’s leading bank, Emirates NBD, has introduced an innovative and convenient banking service called “Bank on Wheels.” This service involves a fully equipped vehicle stationed at various customer touchpoints throughout Dubai. The bank’s main goal is to utilize this service to gain valuable insights into its growth strategy for physical branches.
The mobile branch is an addition to the bank’s existing fleet of mobile ATMs, which was launched in 2004. It aims to provide comprehensive banking services at major events and in newly developed areas where customers have limited access to physical Emirates NBD branches or ATMs.
The Bank on Wheels is equipped with a Cash Deposit Machine (CDM) and staffed with a dedicated service representative. Additionally, plans are underway to include an NCR APTRA Interactive Teller Machine, enhancing customers’ automated branch experience.
Suvo Sarkar, the General Manager of Retail Banking at Emirates NBD, stressed the bank’s commitment to delivering convenient and prompt access to banking services across the UAE. The Bank on Wheels initiative serves as a valuable tool to evaluate the necessity of physical branches in busy districts with a significant customer base. Furthermore, it will be strategically deployed in areas adjacent to existing branches to effectively manage high customer footfall.
