The election body moved a case in September for the technical supplementary grant to the ministry of finance on top of an Rs6.3bn normal budget, approved in June, to pay salaries and meet other routine expenditures.
The federal government will disburse over Rs20 billion to the ECP in the next fiscal year. The overall expenditures of the 2018 general polls were Rs31 billion.
