Asad Umar, the Federal Minister of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, announced that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has set aside Rs 40.5 billion for development projects in Gilgit Baltistan.
Asad Umar promised to boost the federal allocation for the GB development package to Rs50 billion in the fiscal year 2022-24, speaking at a press conference alongside Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan Khalid Khursheed.
The Gilgit-Shandoor Expressway will be constructed at a cost of Rs 50 billion and will be included in the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), according to the minister.
According to him, the integrated development plan for Gilgit-Baltistan included 19 mega projects in the Federal PSDP.
