Rs.75 Note Acceptable for All Types of Transactions: State Bank

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has publicized that the celebratory banknote of Rs75 is now available for the community at its offices. It will be accessible from all commercial bank branches, giving people the authority to use it as a legal tender for settling payments nationwide.

The green-coloured banknote was brought in order to commemorate Pakistan’s 75th Independence Day, was issued under the signature of the newly appointed SBP Governor, Jameel Ahmed.

The design of the note (having images of four national heroes on its front) was revealed on August 14, 2022, during a ceremony at the SBP headquarters, Karachi. During this occasion, the central bank said, “This banknote has been designed to give tribute to the leaders contributing towards the concept of Pakistan, also attempting to create knowledge about climate change and its influence on our environment,”

It was noted by SBP, “The images of the national animal and the national tree on the reverse also highlight the danger of extinction of such species and the need to preserve them”.

A fresh gain was made of 0.51% (or Rs1.16) to end at a one-month sharp at Rs227.29 against the note. However, increasing gains recorded at 5.18% (or Rs12.42) in the prior seven days.

As Finance Minister stated that for him “top priority was to strengthen the rupee,” so this played a major role in that aspect.
