Safe Return! PIA Launches Special Flights to Rescue Pakistanis Stranded in Iran

A special PIA flight, PK-9552 safely brought home 107 Pakistani passengers early in the morning. The flight landed in Islamabad at 3 AM after picking up the stranded citizens from Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.

These passengers had been stuck after Iran unexpectedly closed its airspace, which affected flight routes in the region. As a result, many Pakistanis traveling from Iran were forced to cross the border into Turkmenistan to continue their journey home.

In response, the Pakistani government quickly arranged a special PIA flight to bring them back. Pakistan’s embassies in both Iran and Turkmenistan worked closely together to coordinate the evacuation and ensure the safety and comfort of the passengers.

The returning citizens praised the timely help provided by the government and the efforts made by the national airline. Many expressed relief and gratitude upon arriving safely in Islamabad after what had been a stressful situation.

A PIA spokesperson said that helping Pakistanis during emergencies is a responsibility the airline proudly upholds. “Serving the nation, especially in tough times, has always been a part of PIA’s mission,” the spokesperson added.

This successful operation highlights the strong coordination between different government departments and national institutions during unexpected international crises.

The flight marks a smooth end to a difficult situation, showing the government’s commitment to the safety of its citizens abroad. It also reflects PIA’s readiness to step in and help when Pakistanis are in need, no matter where they are.
