Sajjad Restaurant at Do Darya, Karachi Sealed

The Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) took action against Sajjad Restaurant located at Do Darya, Karachi, for not following tax rules. They said the restaurant was not paying the right taxes and not following the Sindh Sales Tax on Services Act, 2011.

Also, the SRB closed down Dawat, an event management company in Khayaban-e-Bukhari, Phase VI, DHA, for the same reasons.

Both businesses were found to be not reporting their sales correctly, which meant they were not paying the right amount of Sindh Sales Tax (SST). They also didn’t submit the necessary tax returns even after getting reminders from the SRB.

Additionally, Sajjad Restaurant didn’t connect its Point of Sales (POS) system with the SRB’s invoicing system, as required by the rules.

The SRB said they are serious about making sure businesses pay their taxes correctly. They promised to take similar actions against other businesses in Sindh that don’t follow the tax rules.
