Saud Shakeel Becomes 5th Player in History to Score Fifty in Each of His First Six Matches

Saud Shakeel, a left-handed batsman from Pakistan, continued his impressive performance in the first match of a two-match Test series against Sri Lanka in Galle. He scored another half-century, remaining unbeaten on 69 runs from 88 balls, which included hitting six boundaries. His innings was crucial in helping Pakistan recover from a slow start and gain a stronger position in the match.

This notable innings marked Saud Shakeel’s sixth half-century in his first six Test matches, which is a remarkable achievement. Only four other players in the history of red-ball cricket have accomplished this feat. These players include Sunil Gavaskar, Basil Butcher, Saeed Ahmad, and Bert Sutcliffe, who are considered legendary figures in the sport.

If Saud Shakeel manages to score another half-century in the second Test match, he will set a unique record as the only batsman in Test history to score seven fifties in his first seven matches. This further emphasizes his exceptional talent and consistent performance at the beginning of his Test career.
