Diriyah Company and the Royal Commission for Riyadh City have jointly revealed plans for the Royal Diriyah Opera House, a cultural venue of significant importance in Saudi Arabia.
The announcement was made at the Bashayer 2023 Event, which also marked a partnership with the architectural firm Snøhetta for the opera house’s design, along with local architectural insights from Riyadh’s Syn Architects.
The Royal Diriyah Opera House will be located near the UNESCO World Heritage Site Al Turaif in Diriyah and will cover 45,000 square meters.
The project aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and aims to showcase Diriyah as a global center for cultural and creative excellence.
The opera house is expected to blend traditional Najdi architecture with modern design and will host various cultural performances to foster cultural exchange and engagement.
The initiative reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to preserving cultural roots while embracing modernity.
