The kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been highly focused on strengthening tourism, evident from the fact that the country has surpassed the list of World Tourism Organization index (WTO), becoming the second fastest growing tourism destination world-wide.
As per the statistics, more than 16.6 million tourists have visited the country in 2022, while 7.8 million in only the first quarter of 2023. The success can be attributed to the advancements made in the tourism sector, facilitations introduced by travel visa procedures, and highlighting the tourist destinations.
Ahmed Al-Khateeb, the minister of Tourism, stated that the achievements not only in tourism sector but also in many others can be attributed to the ‘wise leadership’. He further mentioned that King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud will continue to enhance the country’s place in global tourism map.
Ahmed Al-Khateeb further stressed that the ministry would upgrade the cooperation with public and private sectors to expedite the position of Kingdom as ‘global tourism hub’.
