Saudi Arabia to Provide $500 Million for Development Projects in Pakistan

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to use the Saudi-Pakistan Supreme Coordination Council (SP-SCC) to provide strategic direction to their relations by enhancing and diversifying existing bilateral cooperation in various fields.

According to a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Saudi Development Fund will finance projects worth $500 million for this reason.

Power, hydropower generation, infrastructure, transportation, communication, and water resource production are among the sectors where projects will be launched under this initiative.

The SP-SCC was established after Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman and Prime Minister Imran Khan signed an agreement in this regard late Friday night, shortly after Mr. Khan arrived in the kingdom for a three-day official visit.
