Saudi Arabia is gearing up for a tourism boom by developing 24 theme parks, 420 entertainment centers, and 35 entertainment venues. This initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to attract over 100 million visitors annually by 2030.
The General Entertainment Authority has issued licenses for these theme parks and entertainment centers. Moreover, contributing to the creation of approximately 30,000 jobs in the region. Furthermore, the gaming industry actively expects a remarkable growth of 250% by 2030.
NEOM, a gigaproject driving the growth of the tourism industry, includes various developments such as Sindalah, The Line, Trojena, and Oxagon.
Sindalah, the first development, plans to welcome visitors in 2024, while the remaining projects will further enhance inbound and outbound tourism. Additionally, the inauguration of Via Riyadh marks a significant milestone in enriching the entertainment offerings in the capital city. Via Riyadh features upscale retail stores, fine-dining restaurants, cinemas, and live performance theaters.
The investment firm Seven Entertainment Ventures (SEVEN) plays a pivotal role in the development of entertainment destinations in Saudi Arabia. SEVEN recently announced a partnership with Hasbro to create a Transformers theme park. The first Transformers attraction located in Riyadh, covering an area of over 10,000 square meters. Furthermore, two additional attractions plan to open at other SEVEN entertainment destinations. With a total investment exceeding SR50 billion ($13 billion), SEVEN plans to build 21 entertainment destinations across 14 cities in Saudi Arabia.
