Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar and Oman to Hire Over 1 Million Filipinos for new Jobs

The Philippines Government has revealed its plans to facilitate extensive recruitment of Filipino workers in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, and Oman. The recruitment drive aims to fill various job positions, particularly in the tourism, hospitality, and construction sectors.

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) of the Philippines is currently working on establishing a Memorandum of cooperation with these countries. It will serve as a formal agreement to express their mutual interest in hiring Filipino workers. It includes healthcare professionals and skilled workers.

During a recent visit to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, DMW Secretary Susan Ople received information that Saudi Arabia has expressed its intention to hire approximately 1 million Filipino workers. The recruitment efforts in Saudi Arabia will primarily focus on the tourism sector. It encompasses the opening of hotels, restaurants, and resorts throughout the country.

Additionally, a joint committee meeting between the Philippines and Qatar is scheduled to take place in September. With the aim of further strengthening cooperation in terms of manpower recruitment. Furthermore, Oman has also communicated its high demand for workers and expressed interest in fostering closer ties with the Philippines.

The planned recruitment of over 1 million Filipinos in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, and Oman signals significant employment opportunities for Filipino workers. By contributing to their economic well being and the development of various industries in the region.
