Saudi Arabia has introduced its first hydrogen-powered bus, a major step toward eco-friendly transportation.
The bus will run between Dammam and Al Ahsa, covering 359 kilometers daily and carrying up to 45 passengers. This trial is part of the kingdom’s efforts to adopt modern and sustainable transport solutions.
The project was launched by Al Ahsa Governor Prince Saud bin Talal and aligns with Saudi Arabia’s vision to promote innovative and environmentally friendly technologies.
The Saudi Transport General Authority (TGA) highlighted that the hydrogen bus is part of their commitment to reducing carbon emissions and improving the quality of public transport.
This initiative builds on other green projects in the country, such as hydrogen-powered taxis and electric trucks. These efforts demonstrate Saudi Arabia’s dedication to preserving the environment while advancing its technology.
By adopting hydrogen-powered transport, the kingdom aims to cut pollution and lead the way in sustainable development. The bus project is also expected to inspire more eco-friendly solutions in the region.
Saudi Arabia’s move toward greener technologies is part of a larger plan to balance economic growth with environmental protection. This hydrogen bus project is not just about transportation—it symbolizes the country’s focus on a cleaner, more sustainable future.
Such initiatives show how innovation and technology can help address global environmental challenges while meeting the needs of modern society.
