The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia revealed the master plan for Riyadh Expo 2030 during an official reception held in Paris, France, on Monday, June 19. Delegates from 179 member states of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) were present at the event.

The Riyadh Expo 2030 aims to create an exceptional global experience. The central theme of the exhibition is “Together for a Foresighted Tomorrow.” It represents the Kingdom’s commitment to shaping a better future.

Furthermore, the exhibition site will be conveniently located near King Salman International Airport, ensuring easy accessibility for visitors. In addition, the “Riyadh Metro” network will connect all parts of the city, providing convenient transportation options for visitors. Additionally, the modern road network will facilitate easy access to the three exhibition entrances.

The exhibition pavilions will be spherical in shape with an equator line running through them. This design symbolizes equal opportunities for all participants. It fosters a sense of inclusivity and cooperation.

The architectural design of the pavilions beautifully captures the essence of Riyadh city. It showcases its rich heritage, vibrant culture, and breathtaking natural beauty. Furthermore, it clearly demonstrates the Kingdom’s shared concern for the global climate and its firm vision for a future brimming with boundless possibilities.

The pavilions locations for participating countries will be determined based on their longitudes. This design concept brings together countries from different parts of the world.

To ensure seamless movement and a pleasant experience for visitors, the exhibition will feature fully shaded corridors inspired by Riyadh’s architectural heritage. These corridors will provide easy access to pavilions, public squares, cultural and innovation facilities, food services, rest areas, and waiting areas, all within short distances.

Green Oasis

Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore a modern green oasis. It is situated within one of the tributaries of Wadi As-Sulai. It emphasizes the Kingdom’s commitment to preserving and sustainable development.

At the heart of the main plan for Riyadh Expo 2030, a prominent landmark will be built, symbolizing “Responsibility for Protecting the Planet.” This landmark will consist of 195 columns, representing the number of countries participating in the exhibition. Surrounding the landmark will be three pavilions. Each representing one of the exhibition’s sub themes: “Prosperity for All,” “Climate Action,” and “A Different Tomorrow.”

Collaborative Change Corner (C3)

Furthermore, the exhibition will showcase the Collaborative Change Corner (C3). It serves as a dedicated area for driving innovation and creativity throughout the seven year journey leading up to and beyond Riyadh Expo 2030. The C3 will highlight collaborative efforts among experts in scientific, social, and intellectual innovations, accelerating the changes that will shape our future.

In addition, Lamia Bint Abdulaziz, has expressed their unwavering commitment to creating an exceptional visitor experience. Moreover, their aim is to provide an interactive and flexible environment while ensuring the active and balanced participation of all countries. With a strong focus on delivering high quality experiences, Riyadh Expo 2030 anticipates welcoming over 40 million visitors.

However, the exhibition’s design revolves around a valley surrounded by pavilions designated for each country. The exhibition plan includes pavilions of various sizes and types, ensuring the allocation of dedicated spaces for each country.

Exclusive Experience for Visitors

The expo offers visitors a unique chance to immerse themselves in diverse cultures. They can indulge in international restaurants representing various countries and enjoy captivating live music performances, further enriching their overall experience.

Additionally, the exhibition presents abundant technical opportunities for cultural and professional development. Furthermore, the organizers have planned the launch of a participating laboratory in Osaka Expo 2025, actively engaging in collaborative initiatives.

Zero Carbon Emission

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is committed to organizing an environmentally friendly exhibition with zero carbon emissions. The Riyadh Expo 2030 site will be powered by clean, solar energy, and the organizers are implementing high standards for resource efficiencies. Detailed strategies are being developed to enhance biodiversity, eliminate food waste, and ensure effective green waste management and recycling.

Moreover, partnerships play a crucial role in the development phase and the objectives of the exhibition. The organizers are dedicated to enabling and financing various partnerships that align with the collaborative vision of change. International projects will be initiated starting from 2025, fostering innovation and international cooperation.

Furthermore, Saudi Arabia aims to make Riyadh Expo 2030 the most sustainable and influential Expo to date, in line with its climate commitments and international sustainability standards. The master plan emphasizes urban afforestation, the use of treated water, and the integration of new energy sources.
