Following the announcement of its plans to introduce Chinese automaker BAIC cars in Pakistan in 2021, Sazgar, Pakistan’s largest rikshaw manufacturer, has now announced that it will also introduce another Chinese brand, Haval in Pakistan.
After September of this year, the company plans to introduce the 2.0 or 2000cc Haval H6 and 1500cc Turbo Jolion. Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson, Proton X70, DFSK Glory 580, and MG HS will compete with the two five-seater crossover SUVs.
Sazgar has already announced its plans to enter Pakistan’s car market with the BAIC D20, a hatchback and sedan from another Chinese automaker. It also plans to release the X25 crossover and the BJ40-Plus off-roader SUV.
According to the company’s website, Haval is one of the market leaders in China’s SUV segment, leading ahead of Hyundai and MG Motors. It is a division of Great Wall Motors that specializes in SUVs and pickup trucks.
Sazgar prides itself on exporting three-wheelers to 20 countries, including Japan, and is listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
