The whitest paint on earth was developed by a team of experts at US Universities that can help combat global warming. This is so white that the requirement for air conditioning can gradually be reduced or even eliminated.
The paint is now included as the whitest ever in the Guinness World Records book. Xiulin Ruan and his colleagues have invented a painting, a mechanical engineering professor at Purdue University.
The white acrylic paint reflects 98,1% of the sun and releases infrared heat so that structures can cool below the air temperature around them. This means that the need of air conditioners can be minimized.
The Sun absorbs less heat than it emits in the new paint. Commercial white paint usually only reflects 80-90% of the sunlight.
