Seven Prime Ministers to Gather in Islamabad for SCO Summit

Seven prime ministers, including those from Russia and China, along with a vice president, will attend a two-day Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) council meeting in Islamabad. The Foreign Office has confirmed that China, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan will all be represented by their prime ministers.

Iran’s first vice president and India’s external affairs minister will also take part in the meeting. Additionally, the prime minister of Mongolia, an observer state, and officials from Turkmenistan, a special guest, will join the event.

This will be the first major regional conference held in Pakistan in years, making it a significant moment for the country. To ensure safety during the event, strict security measures have been put in place. Additionally, the government has announced a three-day public holiday in Islamabad and Rawalpindi to manage traffic and ease movement during the summit.

The meeting is expected to focus on regional cooperation and strengthen ties between the member states. It also provides an important opportunity for Pakistan to showcase its role in promoting peace and collaboration in the region.
