The upcoming film “Jawan,” starring Shah Rukh Khan, is generating a lot of excitement in the Indian film industry. Reports suggest that the film has achieved an astonishing ₹45 crore in global advance bookings, making it the second Bollywood movie to surpass one million advance ticket sales.
Shah Rukh Khan’s previous film, “Pathaan,” was the first to achieve this milestone with 1.08 million ticket sales on its opening day. Impressively, “Jawan” has already crossed one million ticket sales, with more than 20 hours to go before its first screening. It’s on track to potentially set a new record for the highest opening-day pre-sales in Bollywood history.
Industry analyst Girish Johar predicts that “Jawan” could earn around ₹100 crore on its global opening day, with ₹40 crore coming from overseas markets and ₹60 crore from the domestic market. He believes it might even surpass “Pathaan’s” opening figures and could reach up to ₹60 crore in India across all languages. By the end of the weekend, Johar envisions the film’s global total reaching ₹300 crore.
Sanjeev Kumar Bijli, the Executive Director of PVR INOX Ltd, offers a more conservative estimate, projecting an all-India box office collection of ₹65 crore on the film’s opening day. Based on ticket bookings at PVR INOX, he expects the weekend collections to reach around ₹230 crore.
