The record-breaking brilliance of Pakistani bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi in Test cricket continues as the top player eclipses India’s Ravichandran Ashwin to become the best test wicket-taker in 2021.
With 42 wickets, the 21-year-old has surpassed Ravichandran Ashwin, who is in second place with 41.
With a 17.66 average, Afridi, who had astonished the world in the ICC T20 World Cup, reached the current milestone with a 17.66 average.
Hasan Ali (38), Axar Patel (32), James Anderson (32), Ollie Robinson (28), Jack Leach (28), Kyle Jamieson (27), Kemar Roach (27) and Taijul Islam (38), all of Pakistan, are among the fast bowlers (27).
Afridi, however, has achieved a career-high ICC Test ranking following his outstanding performance in the just-finished mega tournament.
He is also the first Pakistani fast bowler to earn a 10-wicket match tally in the West Indies since May 2000.
