No candidate from Karachi managed to secure a place among the top 20 students in the Sindh MDCAT 2026 results, according to the results released by Sukkur IBA Testing Services.
The outcome highlighted strong performances by students from several districts across the province, with candidates from outside Karachi occupying all of the leading positions.
The highest score in the examination was 179 marks out of 180, achieved by a female candidate from Shikarpur.
Her outstanding performance placed her at the top of the provincial merit list and emerged as one of the most notable results of this year’s medical entrance examination.
Students from different districts of Sindh secured the remaining positions among the top 20 performers. Karachi, despite having a large population and a significant number of students appearing for medical entrance examinations each year, did not have a candidate in the top 20. The first Karachi-based candidate appeared at serial number 21 on the merit list.
The MDCAT 2026 examination was conducted on September 20 at nine centres located across Sindh and Islamabad. The test attracted thousands of aspiring medical students seeking admission to medical and dental institutions.
According to the announced results, 33,336 candidates appeared in the examination. Among those who successfully cleared the test, 22,538 were female students, reflecting the significant participation and strong performance of female candidates in this year’s MDCAT.
The results also highlighted the competitive nature of medical admissions in Sindh, where students from different cities and districts competed for positions based on their examination performance.
The strong representation of candidates from districts outside Karachi in the highest ranks has drawn particular attention to the province-wide distribution of top-performing students.
With medical and dental seats remaining highly competitive, MDCAT scores play an important role in determining students’ admission prospects.
The 2026 results provide candidates with an indication of their standing and will form part of the admission process under the applicable merit and selection criteria.
