Shaheen Shah Afridi, known as one of Pakistan’s best fast bowlers, has achieved the title of being the country’s top-rated T20I bowler, according to the latest update from the International Cricket Council (ICC) released on Wednesday. This accomplishment further solidifies his position as a role model for young cricket players around the world.
Shaheen has moved up two spots to secure the 17th position among T20I bowlers. The ICC highlighted his excellent performance in Pakistan’s ongoing T20I series against New Zealand, where the 24-year-old has taken the most wickets in the first three matches.
During the series, Shaheen took one wicket in the opening match, which was affected by rain, and delivered an outstanding performance in Pakistan’s important seven-wicket win over New Zealand in the second game, where he took three wickets for just 13 runs. This impressive display has helped him climb up the rankings, surpassing his teammate and fellow fast bowler Haris Rauf, who is now in 22nd place.
The top position in the T20I bowlers’ rankings is held by England’s Adil Rashid, while New Zealand’s Ish Sodhi has moved up five spots to reach the 18th position after his performance against Pakistan.
