On Sunday, Lahore Qalandars celebrated their inaugural Pakistan Super League (PSL) victory after failing to make the playoffs five times in the previous six seasons.
Multan Sultans, who had been the most consistent team in the tournament and had finished first in the league stage, were disappointed.
However, Sultans Captain Mohammad Rizwan waited with his arms up near the rope for Afridi to hug his compatriot and Pakistan teammate as the Lahore players rejoiced. On Sunday, the video went viral on social media, with supporters calling it as the “Best Moment of the PSL 2022.”
Moreover, Afridi lifted Rizwan in a celebration hug after the 21-year-old led the Qalandars to a 42-run victory in the final at the Gaddafi Stadium.
