Shimshal village in Gilgit-Baltistan has received 4G services from the Special Communications Organization (SCO) (GB).
Shimshal, a border hamlet between Pakistan and China, approximately 55 kilometres from the Karakoram Highway. Because of the distant location, inhabitants had trouble getting facilities.
Previously, individuals had to drive five hours to Hunza for communication and medical assistance.
The region’s internet connections have lately connected Shimshal people to the rest of the world, which will benefit students who may now participate in remote learning and online education.
