Protests have erupted in Varanasi district, Uttar Pradesh, due to the soaring prices of tomatoes. Ajay Fauji, a leader of the Samajwadi Party (SP) known as Ajay Yadav, organized these protests.
To protect the expensive tomatoes, Ajay Fauji made headlines by hiring bouncers. He explained that the high prices had resulted in theft and arguments, leading him to take this step for security. The presence of bouncers at the shop became a spectacle and attracted media attention.
On July 10, a shop was observed displaying signs with messages like “Payment first, tomatoes later” and “Please don’t touch tomatoes and chillies.” To safeguard the valuable tomatoes, uniformed security guards were hired and stationed at the shop.
