Sindh Becomes First Province to Introduce Automated System for Payment of Salaries, Pensions

Recently, a statement has been issued by the CM house, in the history of Pakistan Sindh became the first province to launch Integrated Financial Management Information System (IFMIS) at the council’s level. Introduces with an aim to simplify the accounting and Financial Management process all across the local councils of the Sindh by making it an automated system.

The signing ceremony of MOU between Controller General of Accounts, Islamabad, Sindh Local government and Finance department was witnessed by Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah.

Murad said that over 60,000 employees of local councils launched the new system through which the Sindh government would be able to modify the process of disbursement of salaries and pensions directly into bank accounts and ease the difficulties for the pensioners. Introduced this automated system for the ease of council’s employees.

Further, CM said that with the help of automated new system local councils would be able to produce fourth while and flexible reporting and conveniently track and trace the funds at each spending unit level.

The newly launched system would bought transparency and accountability at the local councils level, he further confirmed.

Prior to that the MOU was signed by Secretary Finance Sajid Jamal Abro, Secretary Local Government Najam Shah (on behalf of Sindh government) and DG Management Information System Mohammad Umar (on behalf of the Controller General of Accounts, Islamabad)

Firstly, it would be introduced in Karachi and later it would be launched in the remaining province.
