Following a decision by the Sindh cabinet, the provincial health department has directed the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University Larkana to begin the admission process in the province’s public and private medical and dental colleges for the session 2021-2022 by admitting candidates who scored more than 50% on the MDCAT 2021.
According to health department officials, the cabinet decided last week to reduce the pass percentage of the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT-2021) from 65 to 50 percent, and a notification was issued directing the SMBB Medical University Larkana to begin the process of admitting students who scored more than 50 percent in the MDCAT.
“In order to avoid leaving seats in our medical and dental colleges vacant and filling them with students from other provinces,” a Sindh health department official explained, “the Sindh health department has decided to give admissions to students who have obtained a 50% or higher percentage in the MDCAT 2021.”
