The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) and cable providers were mandated to immediately resume ARY News programming by the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday.
PEMRA’s decisions were halted by Justice Zulfiqar Ahmed Khan, who also mandated the rapid resumption of ARY News transmission. According to Barrister Ayan Memon, the SHC bench heard ARY News’ appeal and instructed PEMRA and cable companies to immediately resume airing ARY News.
Ayan Memon added that ARY News shifted SHC against PEMRA’s instructions.
The PEMRA’s instructions have been suspended by the SHC.
