“Sindhi Language is Not Spoken in Pakistan Anymore”, Claims Naseeruddin Shah

Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah in an interview claimed that Sindhi language is no more spoken in Pakistan. The actor gave the statement while talking about his recent TV series ‘Taj’. He further discussed that Pakistan has many languages including Balochi, Siraiki, Bari, and Pushto, however, Sindhi is no longer spoken.

The statement received backlash from Pakistani actors as well as Sindhi speakers stating that Sindhi is a widely spoken language in Pakistan. Pakistani actress Mansha Pasha also stated that being a Sindhi speaker, she can confirm that his statement is wrong.

Many people protested to the ignorance of Naseeruddin Shah expressing that Sindhi language is undoubtedly the most developed language after Urdu. People also shared that Sindhi is a medium of instruction within the province and Naseeruddin Shah’s statement is nothing but out of ignorance.
