Skardu Airport to operate International flights from 2 December

The wait for Skardu airport to be upgraded is finally over, as the airport has been upgraded to international status and will begin operations under the new name on December 2 (Thursday), according to a tweet from the Civil Aviation Authority on Wednesday.

According to the government, the airport’s initial operations will be performed solely under Visual Flight Rules (VFR).

A VFR aircraft is one that is designed to fly in visual meteorological conditions (i.e., nice and clear weather).

According to the ATP Flight School, clouds, heavy precipitation, low visibility, and other adverse weather conditions should be avoided when flying under VFR.
