The Senate, the upper chamber of parliament, celebrated its golden jubilee on Friday, and the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) released a commemorative coin of Rs50 to celebrate.
The Senate will celebrate its golden jubilee in 2023, and the federal government authorized the central bank to produce an Rs. 50 commemorative coins to honor the momentous occasion, according to a statement from the SBP.
The Senate of Pakistan is the upper legislative body of the bicameral parliament, with equal representation from all of Pakistan’s provinces.
It is a permanent house according to the constitution, signifying a process of continuity in governing the country.
As of March 17, the coin is being distributed through the exchange counters of all the SBP Financial Services Corporation’s field offices.
