TCL, a Chinese appliance company, is set to introduce the world’s first foldable and rollable smartphone in the near future.
Fold n Roll is a new smartphone that functions as a single device rather than two separate devices with two different display modes.
According to reports in international media, the smartphone is currently a prototype or concept design that the company will take some time to bring to market, with TCL aiming to launch the first device with a flexible screen by the end of the year.
Later this year, the company plans to release the device, which will be fitted with next-generation hinges and mechanics to support the action.
“The prototype has a 6.87” panel that can be expanded to 8.85” under normal conditions. The rollable mechanism extends that to ten inches,” GSMARENA reported.
