The CPEC projects will add 17,000 MW, allowing Pakistan to become energy self-sufficient

Lt General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa, Chairman of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority, indicated that clusters of technology institutes would be developed around the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) being built under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

“Preparing youth for jobs in CPEC projects is our top goal under (the) comprehensive plan,” Bajwa said in a tweet, adding that the institutes would provide skill training to the youth. “Gwadar Technical Institute, which will cater to new industry in the free zone, is rapidly developing,” he explained.

Because of the expansion of 17,000 MW of power to the public framework, Pakistan won’t just be energy independent, yet in addition have the option to trade it once the entirety of the ventures are finished.

According to a CPEC Authority official, the mega project will gain traction this year and in the next years, strengthening bilateral ties between Pakistan and China.
