“There can no longer be any justification for the continuation of the conflict and no excuse for the killing of civilians,” said Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi on Thursday in Beijing at a press conference on the sidelines of China’s Two Sessions.
He added that the international community must act urgently, making an immediate ceasefire and the cessation of hostilities an “overriding priority.”
Wang also expressed China’s advocacy for Palestine’s full membership in the United Nations, urging some Security Council members to remove barriers to peace.
