This is What The Traffic Control Room Looks Like in Beijing

China’s capital and second-largest city, Beijing, is home to more than 18 million people. Operational Control Centers, which are in charge of running the many rail lines around the country, are supervised by the Beijing Traffic Control Centre (BTCC).  This center is known to be the coolest traffic control system.

This traffic control center is a central command center for monitoring and managing urban traffic. Equipped with advanced technology, it features a wall of large screens displaying live feeds from traffic cameras across key locations. Traffic management software processes data from various sources, offering real-time updates, incident alerts, and predictive analytics to optimize traffic flow.

Communication systems facilitate interaction with field personnel, emergency services, and government agencies. The control room can adjust traffic signal timings, coordinate responses to accidents or closures, and provide alternative routes. It also analyzes traffic data for long-term improvements. Backup systems ensure operational continuity.
