Thousands of Karachiites still on the Roads as Heavy Rains Bring City to a Standstill

In Karachi, a significant challenge has arisen as heavy rainfall brought the city to a standstill, leaving numerous residents stranded on the roads.

The impact of the rain was particularly evident on major thoroughfares like Shahrah-e-Faisal and Jahangir Road, where traffic disruptions occurred due to flooding. Additionally, underpasses were submerged, exacerbating the difficulties for commuters.

The situation took a turn for the worse as the rainfall intensified, causing electricity feeders to trip. This resulted in power outages in several neighborhoods, plunging them into darkness. What initially began as light rain transformed into a torrential downpour, accompanied by strong winds in areas such as Surjani Town, Gulistan-e-Johar, Gulshan-e-Johar, Saddar, Jamshed Road, and their surroundings.

The adverse weather conditions have created a series of challenges, impacting not only the smooth flow of traffic but also essential services across various parts of the city.

The combined effects of flooding, power outages, and strong winds have posed significant difficulties for residents and authorities alike, requiring prompt measures to address the aftermath of the heavy rainfall and its consequences.
