Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batsman, Mohammad Rizwan, talked about the changing conditions in cricket matches and how practice in actual games is more valuable than net sessions. He also mentioned seeking advice from former cricketer Saeed Anwar to prepare for Indian pitches.
Rizwan pointed out that cricket conditions can be unpredictable, especially regarding pitch behavior during a match. He emphasized the importance of being ready for any situation and stated that playing real matches provides unique experience compared to practice.
“To get ready for Indian conditions, I spoke with Saeed Anwar before coming here. He stressed the need to adapt to India’s specific conditions. Indian pitches are generally good but can behave differently quickly. Preparation for India is different from preparing for a tour to Australia,” Rizwan explained.
In the World Cup 2023 match against the Netherlands, Pakistan won by defending their target of 287 runs and limiting the opponent to 205 runs. Mohammad Rizwan contributed with 68 runs from 75 deliveries, including eight boundaries, and had a good strike rate of 90.67.
